"There is no rule on how to write. Sometimes it comes easily and perfectly; sometimes it's like drilling rock and then blasting it out with charges."

The Curious Case of Benjamin Button

January 11, 2009

enthralling, haunting, original,  life moving, bizarre, poignant, one of the best movies ever made…

The Curious Case of Benjamin Button

“It’s a funny thing about coming home. Looks the same. Smells the same. Feels the same. You’ll realize what’s changed… is you. ” - Benjamin Button

“Sometimes we’re on a collision course, and we just don’t know it. Whether it’s by accident or by design, there’s not a thing we can do about it.” - Benjamin Button

“You can be mad as a mad dog at the way things went; you can swear and curse the fates - but when it comes to the end, you have to let go. ” Benjamin Button

“For what it’s worth: it’s never too late or, in my case, too early to be whoever you want to be. There’s no time limit, stop whenever you want. You can change or stay the same, there are no rules to this thing. We can make the best or the worst of it. I hope you make the best of it. And I hope you see things that startle you. I hope you feel things you never felt before. I hope you meet people with a different point of view. I hope you live a life you’re proud of. If you find that you’re not, I hope you have the strength to start all over again. ” - Benjamin Button

“Blinded in one eye; can’t hardly hear. I get twitches and shakes out of nowhere; always losing my line of thought. But you know what? God keeps reminding me I’m lucky to be alive.” -  Mr. Daws from the movie Benjamin Button

a tribute to my teekay family

January 8, 2009

naisip ko, this time, will I be using english as my medium of expression, or tatagalugin ko na lang ba dahil ang post na ‘to ay naiiba…?

We’ll I decided, why not sort of a combination? Because this blog will be about my Teekay family – a family of a formal organization yet exudes so much casualness, a homey feel that keeps me feeling at ease. This office actually is my second home. Yes, my apartment is just third because I just sleep there and I don’t spend much time staying.

Kuya Cris – si kuya Cris ang big brother ng lahat, except syempre kay ate Fina who is his wifey. I admire Kuya Cris because his mind is so fast on thinking about cracking jokes that are so funny. Even if a problem is in front of you, you wouldn’t even notice it when he’s the one handling it. It’s because he doesn’t take himself so seriously. Not in a bad way, but in a far good way. His lightheartedness makes the problem be ashamed of itself that it existed. He is the only thorn among the five roses that surround him in the front desks.

Eto pang nakakatawa, when the five girls find time para magtsismisan, he wouldn’t even mingle himself if the subject won’t be of his business, pero pag showbiz na, ah, hayan na ang most flexible celebrity ng Teekay – Piolo, Sam, John Loyd,  Dennis T., Richard G., Dingdong…name the most eligible bachelors ng Pinas, at syempre mare-relate mo na dyan si kuya Cris. No joke, kamukhang kamukha talaga nya..hahaha…

At syempre, ang story of the season na unforgettable and with lots of historical significance, ay nung nasa college years pa nya si kuya Cris at ng plinano nilang mag revolution against Marcos. Bumilib na sana ko eh, kaya lang, at the end, natakot sila sa malalaking tangke at nagdesisyon silang paraanin na lang sila.haha.i gave no justice sa pagkwento syempre. Better hear it from him directly para humagalakpak kayo sa tawa.

To wrap up, kuya Cris is a person with no pretentions and could be a real big brother to everyone. I even ended up telling him one of my dreams – to be a rockstar…pero syempre sya rin kasi may weirdong dream – to be a prince daw..nyahahaha..

Ideas which at the end turn to good outcomes. Pero I’m sure Ramil loves Sheh very much. Wish niyang magkaroon ng LCD, pero, unfortunately to her, ako ang nabunot nung nagpa-raffle ang Smart at ang prize ay, no other than – a Samsung LCD. Sorry Sheh..nyehehe..

Minsang nasa Cr kami, nagpapatugtog ako sa Ipod, volume tuned up, music - Vouge by Madonna, aba biglang pinakita ang kanyang hidden dancing skills. hahaha..panu panahon nya daw yun.

Si ate Lorns is simply just one courageous fighter. She had fought a tough battle, yet we see her standing still, strong. She even ended up with a glowing beauty on her face after the struggles, leaving no mark at all. I admire her bravery. Her story is one i see in movies, an inspiring movie that would make one leaving the movie house with that glow of hope.

Si Chel is a refined lady with an empowering confidence. Chel is the one to hang up with if you want to know some beauty tips and make up hows.

Hobby? ….break it to me gently.

The things on my list…

January 3, 2009

Finally, i had this right mood to post my list of goals. Originally, I’ve made no timespan, but i think it would be exciting if i set my mind to achieve most of these before i hit 25. I’ve edited the original list a little because i realized that some of them made no sense.

1. To drive a speedboat, me wearing an apple green bikini, and wander into the vast ocean alone.

2. To learn how to play a piano, and run a musical piece in front of an audience.

3. To bungee jump (this may take a longer time for me to have the courage).

4. To jam with a rockband.

5. To learn how to swim (i think this should go first before driving a speedboat).

6. To scuba dive in Tubattaha.

7. To ride the SpaceShuttle.

8. To join a car racing.

9. To learn the technicals about cars.

10. To explore Caramoan Island.

11. To dance in the rain with someone.

no timespan - at least while i live:

12. To travel in Europe.

13. To change someone’s life ( I have no idea how).

14. To discover Phi Phi Island.

15. To wed in Vegas.

16. To find my soulmate.

…so many things running on my mind but i think i’ll give them a second thought  because some are just too crazy.
